Includes bibliographical references (pages 589-611) and index.Thomas Earp, Jr. was born in about 1656 in the Barony of Fews, Ireland. He emigrated in 1674 and settled in Ann Arundel County, Maryland. He had two known sons, John and Joseph. He died in 1720. Traces descendants and relatives for twelve generations in Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas and elsewhere. Famous gunman, Wyatt Earp (1848-1929), was one of his descendants.

Waller : a family history / by Richardson, Alice E.(Alice Etta),1919-2015.(CARDINAL)189019;
Henry Thomas Waller (1770-1839) was the son of Henry and Sarah Waller of Surry Co., NC. He married Nancy Dyal/Dial (1786-1870) and they were living in Stokes Co., NC in Bethania District in 1841. They were the parents of six children. Their son Henry Thomas Waller, Jr. (b.1817) married (1) Charlotte Moser (1820-1853/54), the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Deads in Stokes Co. After nine children, she died. He married (2) Mary Vest in 1855 and they were the parents of eight more children. In 1857, they left Forsyth Co., NC and settled in Miami Co., Kansas in 1858. He died in 1902, in Miami Co. Several generations of descendants are given.

Mary Hinton (Duke) Kerr 1907-1990, was the daughter of William Dabney Duke and Jane Elizabeth Taylor and granddaughter of Charles Elisha Taylor, longtime president of Wake Forest College. Educated at Hollins College and Columbia University, she married John H. Kerr, Jr., Democratic Party leader and member of the North Carolina General Assembly from Warren County from 1929 to 1961. Born and brought up in Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Kerr moved to Warrenton, North Carolina, upon her marriage. Mrs. Kerr's mother, Mrs. Duke, was active as a Virginia genealogist during the latter half of her life, working principally in the collections of the Virginia Historical Society, the Virginia State Archives, and the Virginia State Library. Following Mrs. Duke's death in 1963, some of her former clients turned to Mrs. Kerr for help in their research. Having helped those she could, she turned her attention, next, to the local clerk of court and began to assist that office in replying to genealogical inquiries. As a result, Mrs. Kerr ultimately undertook genealogical research professionally, and by so doing became intimately acquainted with the genealogical histories of several hundred families in the Warrenton, North Carolina, area.

The John Herring family of North Carolina and Mississippi; a narrative report / by Herring, Robert A.;
John Herring (1684-1760) emigrated and first settled in Isle of Wight Co., VA. He next settled in Chowan, Bertie and Lenoir Co., NC.. He may have had brothers, Samuel, Edward, Simon, Thomas, Abram and Anthony Herring. His wife may have been Cathuren Marbe. They were the parents of at least three children: John Jr., Joshua and Susanna who married a Becton. Their son Joshua (1723-1801) married Elizabeth Matchett (1728-1786), a native of Co. Down, Ireland. Several generations of descendants are given. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Mississippi, Washington, D. C., Oregon and elsewhere.
